The mission of the Association of Enterprise Architecture (a|EA) is to provide a global forum for the advancement of the profession and practice of enterprise architecture.

The Chief Architects Forum serves as a formal mechanism for the voice of the Chief Architect Community to be heard by the AIC Leadership, CIO Council, and OMB. The Forum is comprised of Chief Architects from federal government agencies. CAF provides an opportunity for Chief Architects to get together to share real world experiences and identify specific issues to promote EA successes.

The EAIG is an open alliance advancing Enterprise Architecture (EA)practice. It is open to companies, government agencies, universities, standard bodies and other organizations from around the world who share our vision, mission, values and objectives.

On February 6, 2002 the development of a Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) commenced. Led by OMB, the purpose of this effort is to identify opportunities to simplify processes and unify work across the agencies and within the lines of business of the Federal government. The outcome of this effort will be a more citizen-centered, customer-focused government that maximizes technology investments to better achieve mission outcomes.

IASA is the premier association focused on the architecture profession through the advancement of best practices and education while delivering programs and services. The association is committed to improving the quality of the IT architecture industry by developing and delivering standards, education programs and developing accreditation programs and services that optimize the development of architecture profession. IASA membership consists of approximately 5,000 members located in over 40 countries.

The IEEE, a non-profit organization, is the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology. The full name of the IEEE is the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc., although the organization is referred to by the letters I-E-E-E and pronounced Eye-triple-E.

IFEAD is a not for profit research and information exchange organization working on the future state of Enterprise Architecture which was founded in 2001 by Jaap Schekkerman, Thought Leader in Business Technology Strategy & Enterprise Architecture.

The NASCIO Enterprise Architecture program was developed to enable the mission of state and local government. Enterprise architecture is the discipline to appropriately define and leverage these capabilities within the complexities of government.

The SIM Enterprise Architecture Working Group is being formed to identify and share processes, methods, tools, concepts, and best practices to enable IT organizations to understand, create, and manage EA in partnership with the business. This will in turn help these same IT organizations substantially enhance the way they manage change, reduce complexity, reengineer processes, plan, strategize, govern, manage projects, and deliver value.
